Marcelino Alvarez, an accomplished CEO, has seamlessly blended his lifelong love for boating with a remarkable career in technology and innovation. Growing up in South Florida, he cultivated his passion for the water through fishing and scuba diving. Marcelino’s professional journey began in advertising, where he produced digital campaigns at prominent agencies such as Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Wieden + Kennedy.

Elevating his expertise, Marcelino founded Uncorked Studios, a renowned product design firm that collaborated with industry giants like Samsung, Nike, Google, Intel, and adidas. Under his leadership, Uncorked Studios played a crucial role in launching innovative software and hardware products. Holding a B.A. in Political Science from Duke University, Marcelino Alvarez’s unique blend of boating enthusiasm and technological acumen propels him as the CEO of Photon Marine, where he pioneers marine technology advancements while embodying his passion for the water.

Marcelino sits on the Board of the Freshwater Trust and on the Board of Commissioners for Prosper Portland. In his spare time, Marcelino enjoys chatting about baseball, public policy, urban mobility, and sustainable systems. His dream project that brings all these together involves getting the Miami Marlins to relocate to Portland to reside in an eco-friendly waterfront stadium with a kayak pool in right field. He and his wife Margaret have three children — Caleb, Lucia, and Mateo.
