Julie Averay Cuesta
With over 20 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, Julie is the EVP, International Marketing & Representation, Americas. She leads the day-to-day operations at MMGY Myriad including the development and management of her team, creating integrated strategic marketing plans for clients that include digital marketing, trade relations, product development, public relations, social media, consumer activations and events. Her tenure with MMGY Myriad and history working on almost all of MMGY Myriad’s destination clients positions Julie as an expert in the travel and tourism industry and integral to MMGY Myriad’s clients’ success. She began her career at Myriad Marketing in 2001 after previous positions at the South Australian Tourism Commission and Qantas Vacation. Julie has been involved in numerous award-winning campaigns including the South African Tourism Global branding and a campaign for the British Virgin Island Tourism Board, both of which won an HSMAI Platinum Award. Julie has the good fortune of working with a variety of compelling clients that differ culturally and offer unique experiences. She believes it’s especially powerful working with emerging destinations where the economic impact of tourism makes a great difference to the destination and its people.
