Celes Davar

President, Earth Rhythms

Celes Davar is the president of Earth Rhythms, an award-winning experiential tourism company. For over 29 years, their focus has been on connecting guests to local culture through art, live music, food, and nature-based experiences. A true foodie, he loves preparing and sharing local foods with guests and has a deep appreciation for the local food producers in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, where he and his wife (an award-winning potter) reside. They are currently in the process protecting 72 acres of old Wabanaki forest as a conservation easement, which sequesters carbon and preserves local biodiversity.

Celes has been supporting and coaching local non-traditional community hosts to create new engaging experiences for guests. Working in multiple provinces with local change-agents and champions, he offers hands-on training and coaching to enable community partners to understand how to craft legendary and regenerative visitor experiences, and nurture collaborative approaches to build capacity with local communities. He is the author of Crafting Legendary Visitor Experiences, a 154 page guide. And, a companion 124 page guide to Coaching Transformative Visitor Experiences. As a storyteller, coach, and experiential tourism guide, he is committed to reshaping the practice of tourism as a community hosting enterprise, regenerative in practice, with the outcome of enabling guest transformations to take place. A Climate Reality Leadership corp presenter, he is committed to integrating sustainability practices and climate change mitigation tactics as part of every single experience that is created. The result of this work has influenced how tourism is delivered in multiple regions throughout Canada. He and his wife live in a net-zero Passive House designed by their son.
