Calen and partners started their first restaurant in 1999. Having recently celebrated the 25-year anniversary, Zambri’s Italian restaurant is a Victoria BC institution. Calen’s business background has been a great compliment to the passion and artistry required to produce amazing food and hospitality.

In 2011 Calen, who’s nickname is “Big Wheel” challenged himself and team to try and bring a socially conscience and environmentally friendly fast food restaurant chain to Canada. This elevated quick service burger joint is called Big Wheel Burger.

With 5 island locations it is Canada’s first Carbon Neutral Restaurant and North America’s first Biosphere Certified restaurant. While serving amazing food it also has raised and donated over $700,000.00 to local non-profits through its Big Wheel Burger Community Foundation.
