IMPACT – Conference Etiquette Guidelines
Tools & Templates

Our IMPACT Conference Etiquette Guidelines.

At IMPACT, we gather to inspire action and cultivate solutions for a regenerative future in tourism. This is more than a conference, it’s a space to learn, question, connect, and grow. In that spirit, we ask that all attendees help create a respectful, inclusive, and thoughtful environment.

Our Shared Commitment

We begin with the IMPACT Commitment, the foundation of everything we do:

Our dream is to create a legacy for regenerative tourism.

In this journey, we pledge to engage those from all value sets with kindness
and candor. We will respect and honor the natural world and Indigenous
lands on which we do business.

We vow to create real change; to protect biodiversity and decarbonize
tourism.

We will use the power of our collective voice to push the boundaries and find
the common good. We will not wait for the world to change. We will change
the world.

Please read the following guidelines:

1. Be Punctual:  Arrive on time for sessions and workshops. This shows respect for speakers and fellow attendees, helping to keep the program running smoothly.

2. Silence Your Devices: Turn off or silence your phone and other electronic devices during presentations.  If you’re taking notes on your laptop, type softly to avoid distracting those around you.

3. Respect the Session Space:  Follow the lead of moderators and facilitators.  In workshops, participate actively but also make space for others to contribute.  Avoid side conversations and take calls outside the room.

4. Practice Respectful Dialogue:  Engage with curiosity and openness, even when perspectives differ from your own. Disagree constructively, challenge ideas, not individuals. Listen actively, speak thoughtfully, and allow others to finish before responding.

5. Foster a Welcoming Atmosphere:  Invite others into conversations, especially those who may be new or attending alone. Respect pronouns and personal space. Speak up or reach out to staff if you witness something that doesn’t align with this code.

6. Be Present:  Give your full attention to speakers and fellow attendees. Limit distractions and avoid multitasking during sessions. Presence is a powerful form of respect.

7. Lead with Kindness:  Share generously, collaborate openly, and uplift others whenever you can.  Let your compassion for those around you match your passion for change.

Together, we shape a more thoughtful, inclusive, and regenerative future for the tourism
industry. Thank you for showing up with intention and care.

Welcome to IMPACT.
