Lindsey Gartner is the Executive Director of the Outdoor Council of Canada (OCC). The OCC reps everyone who works, play and learns outside as both a certifying body that has trained 10,000 outdoor leaders, and an industry association supporting the businesses and professionals who make the sector run. The OCC team works to break down the systemic barriers holding back Canada’s outdoor sector.

Lindsey is a former hiking and whitewater guide with a Masters in Ecological Economics. She views the outdoors as the critical infrastructure for social, economic, and environmental wellbeing, and that the people working in it should be thriving, not hanging on by threads of passion.
