Bob “Gyala’gameh” Chamberlin served as elected Chief Councilor of the Kwikwasutinuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation for 14 yrs in 7 consecutive 2 year terms, successfully negotiating the building of every home in the village and a Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant.
During this time he also served as Vice President of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs (UBCIC) for 9 years where he brought his skills and understanding to broader First Nation issues across BC and Canada, Wild Pacific Salmon and First Nation Food Security being a primary focus.

For 20 years he has participated at every opportunity with First Nation Organizations, Federal and Provincial governments and even being invited to speak at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on the this topic.

“Gyala’gameh” also lead negotiations for Kwikwasutinuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation Broughton Fish Farm LoU seeing the removal of Fish Farms from the Broughton Archipelago, implementing Free, Prior & Informed Consent of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Aboriginal people. He also lead Discovery Islands Fish Farm Consultations for Homalco, Tla’amin & Klahoose First Nation & established the First Nation Wild Salmon Alliance (FNWSA).
“Gyala’gameh” has sought true Reconciliation and Human Rights Justice for First Nations peoples in Canada tirelessly communicating this path, through Reconciliation that would benefit all Canadians and the Country.
