Meiz Majdoub Jr. is the founder and CEO of Mostar Labs, a Victoria-based marine technology company behind LilyPad, modular floating platforms that bring clean power to the waterfront. Tied to a dock or moored offshore, a LilyPad lets harbours, marinas and tour operators charge electric vessels and run shore power without digging up the shoreline, so coastal destinations can electrify at the pace of their fleets rather than their grid upgrades. Meiz came to the problem after 26 years as a Naval Engineering Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, where he founded the Navy’s technology-management program to bring Canadian startups into service. He started Mostar Labs in 2022 on a simple thesis: the same platform that serves defence should pay its way powering the blue economy, built and tested on Vancouver Island. He holds a B.Eng in Computer Engineering, an MSc in Systems Engineering and a Masters in Defence Studies.
